CAUTIONS: Absolutes should be avoided during pregnancy and never ingested (taken internally) and should be kept away from children and pets. No medicinal claims are made for this product and the notes above are provided for guidance purposes only. Absolute Oils are powerful plant extracts and should be used with extreme caution. You should seek the advice of a qualified practitioner should you be in any doubt.

It is important to note that all absolutes are extremely concentrated by nature. They should not be evaluated in this state unless you are accustomed to the undiluted fragrance. For those trying Absolutes for the first time, we strongly recommend they be evaluated in dilution. Otherwise, the complexity of the fragrance – particularly the rare and exotic notes – become lost.

Michelia champaka, or in rather more modern classification Magnolia champaka, from which Champaka Absolute Oil is extracted, quite simply, is the most exclusive and exotic flowering tree known to man. For that very reason Champaka Absolute oil is considered very precious. For more evidence, consider that it takes thousands upon thousands of petals in order to produce a single kilogram of the absolute oil. It does indeed belong to the Magnolia family, hence its more modern classification. It is sometimes called, erroneously, Magnolia Oil. It is also a nd rarely known as the Joy Perfume Tree,  Yellow Jade Orchid Tree and Himalayan Champaca

The flowers are cream coloured varying to pink blushed yellow and orange.

Traditional Uses for Champaka Absolute Oil:-

Used mainly with the manufacture of perfumes.

Champaka Absolute Oil Blends Well With:-

Guaiacwood, Sandalwood, and the herbal oil Calendula, Carnation Absolute, Cardomom, Cedarwood especially Cedarwood Himalayan, Neroli, all Citrus fruits, Vanilla.

History:-

It is native to tropical and subtropical forests at around 600–5,250 ft in Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Thailand, Malaysia, Burma, China, Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam.

The flowers are used in temple ritual and worship, especially in India where the flowers were often floated in a bowl of water to fragrance a room or garlands of them were made for wedding festivals etc. Because it so rare and expensive now, the tradition has altered rather and less expensive flowers are often used nowadays.

The perfume, Joy, was the next best selling perfume after Chanel number 5 and contains Champaka which is part of the reason the tree has come to be known as the Joy Perfume Tree. Many modern perfume creations are once again using Champaka as a single note.
