SCENT: White Verbena Essential Oil has a pleasant, delicate,slightly floral and citrusy astringent aroma.
Don’t confuse it with Verbena citriodora (Lemon Verbena) which has an alltogether more
Sherbet and sharper lemon fragrance and is a more common oil.

Lippia alba from which White Verbena Essential Oil is distilled is a native of Texas, Mexico Central and South America and now, more recently, the Caribbean. It has also been introduced in more recent times to India and some parts of Australia where, in particular, it is grown as a fragrant ornamental garden plant. It is also sometimes known by its colloquial names such as  Bushy Matgrass, Bushy Lippia, Hierba Negra or Pitiona. Its oil is reasonable rare.

It is quite a bushy shrub growing to about 1.5 metres in height with an abundance of white or pink flowers along its stems. It has very aromatic foliage and flowers for which it is highly prized.

Traditional Uses for White Verbena Essential Oil:-

Different plants produce unique and varying essential oils but may contain, in differing amounts, the following constituents:-

piperitone, geranial, neral, carophyllene, camphor, eucalyptol, limonene, carvone, germacrene, α-guaine, β-ocimene, linalool and myrcene

The essential oil is considered to be a good sedative, an anti depressant, and to aid in cases of insomnia. It is also an analgesic.

The leaves of the plant can be used to add flavour in cooking.

White Verbena Essential Oil Blends Well With:-

Angelica, Benzoin, Cedarwood, Grapefruit, Mandarin, Neroli, Palmarosa, Petitgrain, Yarrow.
