Sea Buckthorn oil is a very rich source of vitamins and minerals, especially in vitamins A, C, E and beta-carotenes, flavanoids, and other bioactive compounds.

It has been suggested through research and trial to increase the capability of the body’s immune-system and can prevent vitamin A deficiency in the body.

It is anti bacterial and as such inhibits the growth of bacteria. Sea Buckthorn berries are so rich in vitamins and nutrients that it has been speculated that the plant must have been cultivated by some ancient plant-breeder.

Sea Buckthorn oil is traditionally utilised to promote the healing of skin injuries, such as burns, sores, wounds, eczema and help improve conditions of mucous membranes, including ulcers, lesions, erosions. It is also used to combat wrinkles, dryness and other symptoms of malnourished or prematurely aging skin.

It is expensive because thbe berries which can be harvested only every other year have to be collected by hand and each berry yields only a little oil so thousands are used to generate just a small amount of the oil but users generally consider it well worth the expense.
