OTHERWISE KNOWN AS: Candleberry, Indian Walnut, Kemiri, Varnish tree.

AROMATIC: Kukui Nut, like many cold pressed untreated vegetable oils and nut oils, has a definite and discernible fatty note.

EXTRACTION METHOD: Cold Pressed

COLOUR: Yellow

CONSISTENCY: Kukiui Nut Oil is light.

ABSORPTION: Kukui Not Oil is readily absorbed.

SHELF LIFE: Kukui Nut oil is quick to go rancid; users can expect a shelf life of 3 to 6 Months with proper storage conditions (cool, out of direct sunlight). Refrigeration after opening is recommended.

The Kukui is also known as Candleberry, Indian Walnut, Kemiri, Varnish tree.

The tree is now widely distributed in the New and Old World tropics. It grows to a height of 15-25 m, with wide spreading or pendulous branches. The leaves are pale green, simple and ovate, or trilobed or rarely 5-lobed, with an acute apex, 10–20 cm long. The nut is round, 4–6 cm in diameter; the a seed inside and it has a very hard seed coat and a high oil content, which allows its use as a candle hence its one time name , Candleberry.
