BOTANICAL NAME: Picea glauca

SCENT:White Spruce essential oil is rarer than the black spruce. It is sweeter, and softer than most evergreen oils with a balsamic, resinous odour with green woody and slightly fruity notes. Overall, the scent is very clean, fresh and pleasant.

White Spruce is an indigenous tree to all provinces in Canada and northern lakes states of the USA and can now be found as far south as the American Dakotas although as an introduced specimen tree.

It is typically found in northern arboreal forested areas where the wild growing trees can grow anything up to 30 metres in height. It is also called Canadian Spruce, Skunk Spruce, Cat Spruce, Black Hills Spruce, Western White Spruce, Alberta White Spruce, and Porsild Spruce
