Lotus Saffron is more comm0nly known in India as Kamal Kesar and is obtained from the stigmas of the Lotus (Nelumbo nucifera)

Indian Lotus Saffron has been used since the time of Sushruta. Its seeds, seed pod and petals have been widely used in Ayurvedic treatments for its many health benefits. It is primarily used in the treatment of minor inflammatory skin conditions. Its antisepti and antioxidant properties are considered to help in reducing toxins in the tissues of the body. It is one of the natural ingredients which is used to attain healthy skin. It is a great moisturising agent and therefore, helps to manage flaky and dry skin, while balancing excess sebum( the cause of oily skin)

Traditional Uses for Lotus Saffron – Kamal Kesar

It is commonly found all over India and is a principal ingredient in many ayurvedic treatments for skin conditions. It contains nutrients like potassium, iron and vitamin B and C and has a pleasant earthy taste if made into a tea.

A cooled infusion of the herb used as a final rinse after washing hair helps with scalp and hair health.
